It was a long and special journey from creating the script to filming and coming out on the musical stage. Due to the pandemic, everything became unexpected and uncontrollable. We didn’t expect to stop the practise, to postpone the performance day, or even to change the form of this musical. However, the only unchangeable things were the teachers’ and students’ enthusiasm. It seemed impossible but we were determined to get this musical done today.
Throughout the period, I was impressed with how students improved their acting skills and their ability to memorise all the lines of the script, lyrics for songs and every step on stage. They showed me the infinity of their abilities and really showed me that ‘everyone is special’ not only in His eyes, but also in our eyes.
I am touched by the message of this musical. Some of the lines and lyrics are still marked in my mind:
‘We have no rights to judge others. All of us are unique and special.’
‘No matter our weakness, no matter our strength, His love to us is the same’
‘We should see what God thinks is more important than what people think’
After watching this musical, I hope everyone would also be impressed and believe in God because God loves all of us.
Last but not least, I would like to thank God for leading us in every moment. No matter what difficulties we have, He shows us his grace. This reminds me one of the bible verses:
But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me.(2 Corinthians 12:9)
