Why are the villages named Judgington and Eden?

Judington’s name came from mixing the word ‘judge’, because the people there like to judge each other, and a common suffix (word ending) for places in England ‘–ington’. In Old English ‘-ing’ means ‘people of’ and ‘ton’ means ‘estate/a piece of land’. Lots of places in England end with this suffix e.g. Paddington, Darlington, Bridlington etc.

Eden’s name came from the Bible. When God created the world, Adam and Eve lived happily in the Garden of Eden. We chose the name Eden because it was a happy place where people didn’t judge each other and knew they were special in God’s eyes.
