Why are the main characters named Jonah and Gabby?

Gabby was named after the angel Gabriel. Gabriel was God’s messenger. He brought important messages to the people in the Bible. Gabriel was the angel who told Mary that she would give birth to the baby Jesus. Gabby brings an important message to Jonah and the people of Judgington so we decided to name her after Gabriel.

Jonah’s name comes from the Bible too. In the Bible, Jonah was asked to help a town called Nineveh that was full of people who were sinful and doing bad things. After having doubts and trying to run away, Jonah helped the people and saved the town. Jonah in our musical helps the people of Judgington to feel God’s love just like Jonah did in the Bible so we decided to name our main character after him.
